We were still waiting for our Paris flight and we decided to call home to get the score of Emma's game in Culver. Matt answered and said "Don't freak, Mom, Emma was taken to the Plymouth hospital in an ambulance". I passed the phone to Chip thinking he was joking. She was playing in goal and jumped up for the ball, lost her balance and fell hard on her neck and back with the opposing player landing on her. After many attempted cell phone calls during which other passengers were boarding the flight, we finally determined they were going to let her go home with a neck brace and some Vicodin. While we were still standing there talking to the ticket agent, Kathy and Bill had to get on the plane after frantically collecting all the trip information from us. She's now resting at home and we were the last ones on the plane after they held it for us. Not quite the start we were hoping for but at least Emma is ok and our flight was fine. We're here now and have a nice hotel in the 8th Arrondissement.
